The Blue Bell Cottage is a replica of the historic Blue Bell Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg with an authentic English basement. Taverns were an integral and important part of 18th century society. Records show the Blue Bell Tavern was built by John Redwood in 1706 just east of the Capitol on North Waller Street near the Exchange.
The Blue Bell Cottage is built much as the original - with heart pine floors, cedar shingles, clapboard siding, and brick chimney - but with all the modern comforts that make this a charming and enjoyable getaway. The Blue Bell Cottage is perfect for an anniversary or romantic getaway, or for the out of town business executive that requires more than the nearest motel can offer.
